Small Group Snowmobile Safari to the Aurora Cabin (Northern Lights)
Ride through silent Arctic forests to a cozy wilderness cabin and experience the magic of Lapland under the northern sky.Experience the magic of a winter night in Lapland on a small-group snowmobile safari through peaceful Arctic wilderness, far away from the city lights and crowds of Rovaniemi.
Your evening begins with a transfer to our safari house in a small Lappish village surrounded by forests and untouched nature. Here, you will receive warm winter clothing and meet your local guide. Before heading into the wilderness, your guide will introduce you to the snowmobiles and explain the safety and driving instructions.
Then it is time to set off into the Arctic night. Drive your own snowmobile through snow-covered forests or simply relax and enjoy the journey as a passenger. Families with smaller children can travel comfortably in a sleigh pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. Adults who prefer not to drive can also choose to travel as a passenger or in the sleigh.
From the moment the safari begins, you are surrounded by the darkness and silence of the Arctic wilderness. The route takes you through snow-covered forests with almost no artificial light, creating the perfect atmosphere for experiencing a true Lapland winter night.
Our route runs alongside the Pisavaara Nature Reserve, surrounded by some of the most beautiful wilderness in the area. Keep your eyes open along the way, as reindeer, moose, foxes and other local wildlife may occasionally be spotted in or around the forest.
Your destination is our cozy Aurora Cabin, hidden away in the wilderness. Here, we stop and slow down for a while. Warm up by the fire and enjoy hot glögi and traditional Finnish snacks while your guide keeps an eye on the night sky.
On clear nights, the darkness and remote location provide an excellent setting for watching the Northern Lights. Step outside the cabin, enjoy the silence of the surrounding forest and look towards the sky for a chance to see the Aurora Borealis dancing above the Arctic landscape.
After enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the cabin, we begin our snowmobile journey back through the dark and snowy forest to the safari house. The combination of snowmobiling under the Arctic night sky, a warm wilderness cabin and the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights makes this a memorable way to experience a real Lapland winter evening.
This safari is suitable for couples, friends and families with children. You do not need to drive a snowmobile to participate, so everyone can enjoy the experience in the way that suits them best.
PLEASE NOTE
The Northern Lights are a natural wonder, and while they can’t be guaranteed, we give you the very best chance to see them.
Guests aged 18 or older with a valid driving licence can drive a snowmobile. Driving is completely optional.
Children under 145 cm travel safely in the sleigh pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. Guests over 145 cm can ride as a passenger on a snowmobile, while guests under 18 years old are not permitted to drive.

Contact usWill we see the northern lights?
Nature decides. We monitor forecasts and take you far from light pollution to improve the odds. The night tour is magical even without aurora.
Can we get photos with Santa?
Our guide can help with your phone photos; professional photos are available on request (included on the private tour).
Can our 3-year-old join the sleigh tour?
Yes. Sleigh tours are calm and cozy with reindeer hides; little ones can sit on a parent’s lap.
Can we book a private tour?
Absolutely. Any tour can be made private, and we offer a dedicated Private Evening with Santa experience.
What is the Electric Reindeer?
Electric Reindeer is our name for an electric sled (model e-Scort Comfort, made by eDream, Finland). It’s near-silent and fume-free — you drive it on guide-led trails.
Do I need a driver’s license to drive the Electric Reindeer?
No license is required. The minimum age to drive is 15 on our guided trails. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. For safety, the guide may decide that a guest rides in the sleigh instead. Under-15s are welcome on our sleigh rides.
