Driving through the snow covered forest was magical. Eetu was a wonderful guide. He was extremely patient with our group and shared lots of stories about Finland and nature, pointing out the different animal tracks in the snow. We drove through the forest to a cute cabin with a fire and tried some Finnish cheese, biscuits, chocolate and hot Glögi. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel, and didn't need them but were offered warm suits to borrow and hand warmers. Thank you Eetu for a wonderful day!

Wonderful activity in beautiful setting
Rght from the start our guide Eetu went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed the activity, generously sharing his knowledge of the local landscape and Finnish traditions. We rode through a beautiful snowy forest to a cozy cabin where traditional snacks and drink awaited us. There was time for photos before we headed back on our electric reindeers to see some live reindeers and offer them food. We had a great time and highly recommend both the activity and the company.

Magical Electric Reindeer Experience in a Winter Wonderland
We had a great experience with SnowTrail Safaris. Even though we didn’t manage to see the northern lights, the trip was absolutely worth it. Riding the electric reindeer through a snowy forest felt magical and peaceful. The small house in the wilderness was incredibly quiet and dreamy - a true winter wonderland and a perfect place to slow down and enjoy nature. The SnowTrail Safaris team were super friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from start to finish. The snacks were very tasty, which was a lovely touch after being out in the cold. Overall, a wonderful and unique experience that we would definitely recommend -aurora or not!

Je recommande les yeux fermés. Une expérience magique, d’autant plus que nous étions seules. Le trajet en traîneau, la gentillesse de notre guide, la pêche sous la glace, la couleur du ciel, la collation, le nourrissage des rennes… chaque moment était unique. Je recommande vivement cette activité !! Notre guide nous a très bien expliqué la pêche mais aussi la vie en Laponie. La conduite était très sécurisée et agréable. Le temps dédié à chaque activité parfait et le barbecue très bon. J’ai été très marquée par le soin apporté par notre guide au respect animal tant dans la remise à l’eau des poissons que le respect des rennes (les laisser venir à nous, ne pas forcer s’ils se montraient peureux). Nature decides. We monitor forecasts and take you far from light pollution to improve the odds. The night tour is magical even without aurora.
Can we get photos with Santa?
Our guide can help with your phone photos; professional photos are available on request (included on the private tour).
Can our 3-year-old join the sleigh tour?
Yes. Sleigh tours are calm and cozy with reindeer hides; little ones can sit on a parent’s lap.
Can we book a private tour?
Absolutely. Any tour can be made private, and we offer a dedicated Private Evening with Santa experience.
What is the Electric Reindeer?
Electric Reindeer is our name for an electric sled (model e-Scort Comfort, made by eDream, Finland). It’s near-silent and fume-free — you drive it on guide-led trails.
Do I need a driver’s license to drive the Electric Reindeer?
No license is required. The minimum age to drive is 15 on our guided trails. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. For safety, the guide may decide that a guest rides in the sleigh instead. Under-15s are welcome on our sleigh rides.
